CEO-only site visit: Leading the future of steelmaking though transformation
The next visit in our high hazard operations series invites Forum CEOs to step inside another one of New Zealand's most strategically important industrial assets - the Glenbrook steel mill, home of New Zealand Steel.
As the country's sole producer of flat-rolled steel products, NZ Steel supplies more than 90% of domestic demand, supporting industries from construction to infrastructure and manufacturing.
Now the business is undertaking a transformation to secure the future of steelmaking in New Zealand. In partnership with the Government, NZ Steel is investing in a new electric arc furnace at Glenbrook - a project that will halve coal use and cut emissions by around 45 percent.
From process safety and control to emissions management and continuous risk monitoring, this half-day vist offers valuable insight into what it takes to lead heavy industry through transformation in a high-risk operation.
Join NZ Steel CEO Robin Davies and the leadership team for a guided plant tour and discussion with peers from across sectors.
